Perancak Temple or also called Pura Gede Perancak is a Hindu temple located in Perancak Village. Initially, the purpose of making this temple or temple was as a means to commemorate the arrival of a well-known figure namely Dang Hyang Nirartha to the island of Bali around 1546.

Perancak Temple is also known as the Dang Kahyangan Temple which was created Ida Pedanda Sakti Wawu is coming in honor of the arrival of the legend as well as the leading propagator of Hinduism namely Dang Hyang Nirartha.
As holy priest, Dang Hyang Nirartha has great charisma that makes King Blambangan’s younger brother fall in love with him. However, to avoid conflict, he finally moved to the mouth of the Tanjung Ketapang River, which is currently known as Perancak Village. Well, that’s where this temple was made.

Perancak Temple has existed since ancient times even though it was only a stone used for worship. It is said that I Gustri Ngurah Rangsasa, who at that time was the village leader, forced Dang Hyang Nirartha to pray at the temple. But finally the rock split into two and the temple collapsed.
Finally, the village leader apologized for the incident and Dang Hyang Nirartha restored the collapsed temple to a magnificent temple with three overlapping meru. On the left is an adjoining building that reflects I Gusti Ngurah Rangsasa. Because it comes from the word encak, finally it is now called the Perancak Temple.

Unlike other temples, Dahkayangan Perancak Temple is one of the temples that has received Dahkahyangan status from the 8 main temples in Bali. Therefore, almost every day someone always comes to pray at this place.
Because of its location far from the capital city, this temple is less popular and rarely even known by tourists. However, it actually provides flexibility and calm for those who want to tank or pray at this temple.
Address & How to Get to the Location
The address of Perancak Temple is located in Perancak Village, Jembrana District, Jembrana Regency, Bali. The location is on the banks of the Perancak River and Perancak Beach and adjacent to the Perancak Mangrovo Ecotourism & Kurma Asih Sea Turtle Conservation Center.
As one of the largest temples in Jembrana Regency, of course almost every local community knows about this one temple. So, if you have trouble finding the route, then don’t hesitate to ask local residents.
So, if you come from Kota Negara Square, Jembrana, then the required distance is around 9.4 km and takes about 20 minutes if you access it by car or motorbike. Here is the route you can take:
- From the Kota Negara Square Square, please take a southwest direction towards Jl Raya Denpasar – Gilimanuk
- After that, enter Jl Arjuna and continue to Jl Danu Buyan with a distance of about 650 meters
- Continue to Jl Pulau Jawa and keep following the road for about 6.4 km
- After crossing, you have arrived at Perancak and continue through the Perancak Circuit
- Enter Jl Arjuna then continue until Jl Mekar Sari, now you have arrived at your destination
Perancak Temple Entrance Ticket Price
The entrance ticket to Pura Gede Perancak is completely free. You are free to visit as long as you wear decent clothes, it is highly recommended to use a special sarong that is usually worn by local people when visiting temples.
As it is a sacred place, you are also advised to bring offerings such as flowers and holy water. For women who are menstruating, it is advised not to visit any of these holy places.
